This is the store manager speaking! Here’s what you probably want to know most right now: the real story behind the complaint we received regarding “the return rate is strange” in our collaboration project with Hikaru, called “Oripa no Tora.” In fact, this complaint made us, the operating staff, deeply reconsider. Today, I will professionally and clearly explain the correct definition of return rate. And from my experience as “Pokeka no Tora,” I’ll also talk about the major future challenge we’re taking on as Yuurakusya!

Hello everyone, this is the store manager! 😎
Thank you so much for enjoying Oripa no Tora every day! Our online gacha project with Hikaru is getting more exciting by the day, and we’re truly grateful for your support!🔥
Today, I’d like to honestly discuss one of the complaints we received about Oripa no Tora, the misunderstanding behind the “return rate”, and the future strategy of our store.
🐯 Major Hits and the Complaint We Received
Exciting “Big Hit” Reports!
For example, we recently received an amazing hit report! Someone pulled the highly valuable PSA Karen card! [15:47] Everyday customers are actually hitting these super rare prizes. It’s truly exciting! ✨
The “Return Rate” Question
On the other hand, some customers didn’t hit anything valuable and sent us complaints. The most common complaint was: “I spent 10,000 yen and only received 200 points. Isn’t that wrong?”
And here’s the sharpest question:
“If you promote a 70% return rate, shouldn’t a 10,000 yen Oripa normally include 7,000 yen worth of cards?” [17:23]
What do you think about this point?
⚖️ The Correct Definition of “Return Rate”
This question is extremely important when discussing Oripa. The conclusion is: interpreting return rate as a “per pull guarantee” is a misunderstanding.
❌ It Is NOT a Guaranteed Minimum for Each Pull
The return rate does not mean each individual product guarantees a minimum value. [19:45]
For example, imagine a 100% return rate Oripa with 10 pulls, each priced at 10,000 yen.
- Loser slots: nine pulls each worth 5,000 yen
- Big hit slot: one pull worth 15,000 yen
Even with this structure, the total reward equals the total sales, meaning the overall return rate is 100%. [20:06]
✅ Return Rate Is Calculated As a Total
Return rate means: based on the total number of pulls, the overall proportion returned is a certain percentage. [20:25]
This is the same concept as pachinko or slots. [20:55] You won’t hit every time. As the number of attempts increases—10, 100, 10,000—the probabilities stabilize. Oripa works the same way. It’s calculated as a total rate.
With products like Oripa no Tora where the hits are extremely valuable, the rate is naturally calculated as a total. [22:07] Unless it explicitly says “every pull guarantees at least XX yen,” return rate should be understood as overall return percentage.
💡 Future Strategy Born from “Pokeka no Tora”
Based on this situation, I feel a major shift happening in the card industry.
Behind-the-Scenes of New Pokémon Set Purchases
Recently, my funds temporarily ran low due to purchasing large volumes of Pokémon year-end festival sets. [02:19] As Pokeka no Tora, acquiring new sets is absolutely essential.
Industry Shift: Apps Will Change Card Shops Forever
Now, apps like MyCardLinks are emerging, allowing users to track price fluctuations in their collections, almost like stock markets. [09:15]
When this becomes mainstream, traditional card shops that rely on showcases and counter sales will lose relevance. [10:22] I feel a real sense of crisis.
🎰 Yuurakusya’s Next Move: Transforming Into a Gacha Specialty Store
Therefore, I decided on a bold renewal plan for our store “Yuurakusya Himeji Hanada Branch.”
Removing Showcases and Focusing on Game-Like Systems
- Total store renovation: We will eventually remove most showcases. [08:05], [11:51]
- Sales style change: We will focus entirely on gacha machines, Oripa, and vending machines. [12:09], [12:43]
- Examples: High-value Pokémon gacha, figure gachas, etc. [08:29]
We will transform our store into one with a game-like experience, bringing the excitement of Oripa no Tora from online into the physical shop. [53:08]
Crowdfunding to Build the Future!
This requires significant capital, including the installation of multi-tier gacha lockers. We are currently running an ongoing crowdfunding campaign to upgrade our shop. If you resonate with our challenge, we would be grateful for your support! [13:54]
🤝 Summary: Turning Misunderstandings Into Growth
Please understand: the return rate in Oripa no Tora is calculated as a total. Your one attempt becomes someone else’s “PSA Karen hit”, and collectively creates hope for the future of the store. [22:36]
As Pokeka no Tora and as part of Oripa no Tora, I hope to continue building a new future for the card industry together with Hikaru. Thank you for your continued support!
